And He Was Oh Oh So Mad, And I Don’t Think He’s Comin, Comin Back…..

Don’t be alarmed. You won’t see anything here for two weeks.
It looks like this: YVR – MUC (Munich) – VRN (Verona). VRN – MUC – AYT (Antalya). AYT – DNZ (Denizli). DNZ – ADB (Izmir) – MUC – YYZ – YVR.
This is starting to become a habit….

If you really want to keep up, stay tuned to the FB page!
See you soon, travel safely!

This song deserved a much better video…

Day Six – ADB – IST – BLQ

It was only a matter of time, but alas, we had to leave Turkey. Our trip was almost half way over and we had already done so much!

I was mentally exhausted trying to digest everything that we took in from a business/work perspective, and from a personal perspective. This was already ranking up top as one of the highest work trips I ever had to take (Paris and London in the same trip are still tops).
We were off to Istanbul and then transfer to Bologna, Italy. Istanbul has one of the world’s best Airport Lounges I’ve ever snuck into! Definitely world class food as well as a good place to rest and recharge for your flight!
We didn’t really get to see much of Bologna as we got in a bit late, but we did get to reach a nice restaurant that had soccer jerseys pinned to the ceiling. It was a pretty cool effect, and the food was awesome!!
Now was to come the tradeshow part of the trip….
Dunn dunnn dunnnnn….

Sippin On My Vino, Got Me Cooler Than Pacino, And DeNiro Put Together, My Real Life Is Like `Casino`…..

So as you can imagine, with an itinerary that looks like:
YVR – YYZ – MUC- IST – DNZ – ADB- IST – BLQ – VRN – FRA – YYZ – YVR,
it is going to be crazy and hectic trying to keep this thing up to date. I will try and post updates when and wherever I can, but I already know that it ain`t going to be easy.
In the meantime, I can show you the Colossae Hotel in Pummakale Turkey:
http://www.colossaehotel.com/index_eng.html

Methinks it`s a bit of an upgrade from the kleenix box sized hotels I`ve been staying in in New York!! If you`re in the area, look for me!!
As for the rest of the updates, Stay Tuned!!

Song of the Day: Party Life – Jay-Z

I`ll Be Gone Til November, I`ll Be Gone Til November, And Give a Kiss to My Mother…..

I’m not going to lie to you, I’m a bit uneasy about this upcoming Turkey-Italy trip I’m taking for work. Besides the fact that I’ve never been to Turkey before and I’ve never had any intention of ever going to Turkey, the work aspects of the trip have been making me nervous. I will have 3 intense days of looking at tiles and rocks, right in the factories and quarries and will have to learn the ins and outs of the quality and grades of all the stones right on the spot. As well, I’ve have to learn and see first hand the tile cutting process from blocks and chunks in the mountains to processing and packaging. That’s a lot to handle in three days! And then, I have to spend the next three days in Italy, hobnobbing with the Italian elite of the marble industry and work my charm on vendor relastionships.
There are incredibly and surprisingly many parallels between my old apparel industry experise and that of Marble and Travertine Tiles. So for me, the learning curve of the Business aspect of things hasn’t been that hard at all. In fact, I’m contributing new and innovative ideas that I’ve stolen from the apparel and marketing world, and am already putting my stamp on my contributions to the future growth of this company.
There’s no question that the food will be utterly awesome, the nightlife will be insane, and the shopping will be chaos. Let’s just hope that this work trip will be able to open so many more doors for me in the future!!
Stay Tuned!!
